The practice complies with the Data Protection & Access to Medical Records Legislation.
Our staff will not reveal, to anybody outside the practice, personal information they learn in the course of their work without the patient’s consent. Nor will they discuss with colleagues any aspect of a patient’s attendance at the surgery in a way that might allow identification of the patient, unless to do so is necessary for the patient’s care.
Identifiable information about you will only be shared with others in the following circumstances:
- To provide further medical treatment for you e.g. from district nurses and hospital services.
- To help you get other services e.g. from social services (this would require your consent).
- When we have a duty to protect others e.g. in child protection cases.
Anonymised patient information will also be used at local and national level to help the Primary Care Trust and Government plan services. If you do not wish information about you to be used in such a way, please let us know.
